Availability
Unlike conventional Voice Over Ip (VoIP), cellular and satellite telephony, all which rely upon land-based infrastructure, an HF radio requires minimal infrastructure and is the only available source of communication in diaster situations such as Earthquakes, Tsunamis and War.
Deployability
HF radio is simple and quick to deploy and provides fast communications for users no matter where they are situated. Fixed base stations can be used to communicate with other bases to provide command and control for mobile (vehicle mounted) and portable (manpack) users in the field.
